Emergency Repairs

Faults which could lead to death or injury, endanger the health of occupants or any defect which could cause extensive damage to Council property or tenant’s effects. For example, collapsed ceiling, broken blocked toilet or lift breakdown

Target Timescale: Within 2- 4 hours of receipt of fault


Urgent Repairs

A fault will be treated as urgent if it is causing inconvenience to residents, visitors or the public. Priority will be given to households with young children, people with disabilities, the elderly and vulnerable. For example, total loss of drinking water or loss of heating.

Target Timescale: Within 2 working days of receipt of fault


Non-Urgent Repairs

Day to day maintenance and upkeep of any council building or dwelling for example minor repairs to plasterwork

Target timescale: Within 20 days of receipt of fault

NOTE: That a blocked sink or a leaking toilet is urgent but not an emergency repair. Contact the TMO office on the next working day to carry out repairs. If your sink is blocked because you have put down fat or food particles down the sink, this repair will be carried out only once in any 12months for free.
